Dear Member Owners,
Ready to become more engaged in your food cooperative? Consider running for the board of directors!
This fall we will once again be holding an election for the Board of Directors to fill seven open seats, serving staggered terms:
- Two one-year terms, ending in 2020
- Two two-year terms, ending in 2021
- Three three-year terms, ending in 2022
Serving on the board of directors is a volunteer position and will require time commitment beyond the attendance of board meetings.
To be eligible to serve on the board, a member owner must be a member in good standing and current on membership payments (if not paid in full). Only one member per household can run for a board seat, and may not have interests which are deemed adverse to the coop. Member Owners interested in serving on the board of directors must submit a letter of intent, including contact information (email address and phone number), qualifications for being a board member, and short biography. Letters should be submitted to the board at firstname.lastname@example.org, or send or drop off a letter at the store, 711 E. Sweet Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58504. To be eligible, all letters must be received by Monday, September 2, 2019.
In addition to submitting a letter of intent, candidates must attend either the August 21 or September 18 board meeting. The board currently meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in the coop’s community room.
Any questions can be directed to Kevin Martin at email@example.com or 701-226-1261.
