Music. Arts. Food. Community.

Harmony Fest '13 is just days away!

This Saturday the BisMan Community Food Co-op will be jamming with local musicians and artists at Harmony Fest '13! Come down for our big member kick-off event and enjoy music, art, and a delicious lunch or dinner. The menu will include sloppy joes, veggie sandwiches, cucumber salad, fruit and yogurt parfaits, and chocolate chip cookies. YUM! The grass-fed beef is from Lynn Brakke (Moorhead, MN) veggies from Dwight Duke (Bismarck, ND) and the buns will be fresh baked by Annie Carlson at Morning Joy Farms (Mercer, ND). We will also have "The Co-op Kids" selling homemade lemonade. Let's make this happen, Bismarck-Mandan!

Come check it out at Custer park this Saturday 1 to 7pm.

Harmony Fest '13

The Harmony Fest '13 poster is out, and it looks GREAT. Bisman Community Food Coop is so excited to be partnering with Dakota West Arts Council to host our official membership kick-off at Custer Park in Bismarck from 1-7pm on Aug 17. Harmony Fest is a yearly collection of local artists and musicians in the Bismarck area, and this year they've decided to include local foods!

BCFC and Northside Market will be providing the food, so make sure to mark your calendars for a day of music. arts. food. community.

Ambassador Training #2

The co-op will host their second ambassador training session this Thursday, July 11, at 6:30pm in Meeting Room A of the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library.

Join us for a brief presentation and for an opportunity to meet others interested in helping us spread the word about the co-op. This is perfect for those who have wanted to help out but aren't sure how. Highlights will include how to host a house party, FAQ's, and a short Q&A. We can't do this without you! Help us put the 'community' in BisMan Community Food Co-op!

Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing your children. We will provide on-site activities for them.

Join the event on Facebook. We hope to see you there!

Ambassador Training

Thanks to everyone who came out last night! It was great meeting all of you and we look forward to getting to know you better in the future. We are developing an Ambassador packets for anyone interested in hosting a house party over the next few months. This will include information on membership, our timeline, and answers to all the other burning questions people may have about the co-op. We want to support you as volunteers and make sure you have all the information you need.

For photos of the event, check out Friends of the Co-op on Facebook!

Food - Family - Wellness

Join us for a Food Co-op Sponsored Public Forum!! We will be viewing a couple inspiring videos. Our guest speakers include Renita Rhone Brannan: personal trainer, life coach, and nutrition coach. Also, Dr. Travis Livesay: chirpractor and local/organic food enthusiast. They both have incredible passion for healthy food. We will also have an update on The Food Co-op followed by Q&A. Kids are always welcome!

Sunday, Feb. 24, from 3pm to 5pm at the United Church of Christ

Food Day 2012

Thanks to everyone who came out last night to support the co-op and hear what our wonderful panelists had to say! We collected two big boxes of food for the Ruth Meiers House and had thoughtful discussions about the changing landscape of food. I think its safe to say we all walked away feeling more inspired.

Thanks to Go! Bismarck Mandan for partnering with us for this event and for all the producers that came out to share their perspectives. We had a nice turnout of people, great music by James McMahon, and lots of delicious homemade goodies made by the steering committee. We may have to start posting recipes on the website after all the requests last night :)

So many good people leading the charge!
